03Questions
Frequently asked
Why does parking displace GFA?
Structured parking usually sits inside the measured building volume, so every stall consumes gross area that could have been saleable. Where a bylaw excludes below-grade parking from GFA the cost stays but the area does not — set the stall area to zero to model that case.
What is a realistic cost per stall?
It varies by structure type and market, which is why nothing is pre-filled as fact here: surface, above-grade structured and underground stalls differ by an order of magnitude. Use your own quantity surveyor's number.
